Using BigCommerce with MailChimp

October 28th, 2010 | by Amy
BigCommerce is an all-in-one, feature rich ecommerce solution that allows even the most novice user to create a fully functional online store to sell physical and digital products online.
BigCommerce’s MailChimp integration allows online retailers to set up sophisticated email integration rules that add, remove or update subscriber information based on that subscriber’s actions in your BigCommerce store.
Here’s how to get started setting up the MailChimp and BigCommerce integration.

First, head over to your Big Commerce store dashboard. Click the ‘Email marketing’ link under the ‘Marketing’ tab.
BigCommerce1
Next, check the MailChimp box under ‘Email Integration Settings’ and then select your preferred options for Newsletter settings and New Customer Subscription Settings.
BigCommerce2
Click ‘save’ and then click the MailChimp tab that’s been added to your Email Marketing Dashboard.
BigCommerce3
Once you’re in the MailChimp tab, you’ll need to paste in your MailChimp API Key.
You can easily get your MailChimp API Key by logging into your MailChimp account and selecting ‘API Keys & info’ from the Account menu.
Bigcommerce5
BigCommerce6
Once you’ve copied your API Key from MailChimp, head back over to your BigCommerce store and paste the API Key into the appropriate box. Next click ‘Verify API Key.’
BigCommerce7
Once the API Key is verified you’ll be able to select which list you’d like new subscribers to be added to.
BigCommerce8
You’ll also be able to customize your New Customer Subscription Rules. For more examples of how you can take advantage of New Customer Subscription Rules, check out this BigCommerce demo.
BigCommerce has a pretty sweet eBay integration too. It allows online retailers to automatically publish product listings in eBay once they’ve been added in BigCommerce. That means, since MailChimp recently released a fancy shmancy eBay auto-connect template, you can use BigCommerce to auto-publish your products to eBay, and then create a beautiful email template showcasing your store items with just the click of a button. For more information on MailChimp’s eBay Auto-Connect template, check out this handy blog post.

Setup Bulk Email Server On Vps 05.10.10

We are trying to setup a bulk email server ready for opt in mailing on a vps. The server must have all of the proper records configured in accordance with spam filters ,can spam act and very importantly all email delivered must hit INBOX. To name a few configurations:
- Get zone files straight (including reversed zones)
- Setup correct MX records
- Setup correct SPF records
- Setup correct DKIM Headers
- Setup Domainkeys
- Setup server to Fetch bounce mails, and remove unknown users etc.
- Add a “List-Unsubscribe” header (mailto for best compat.)
- Add ip(s) to MS SNDS
Before payment is released from escrow we will do a mail test run to test against spam filters. All of our ips are whitelisted so the emails sent must go to inbox.
